As UX designers, we all start with a spark — a belief that design can change how people interact with the world.

Naive, I know — maybe even reductive — but it’s what attracted me to the field.

The allure was undeniable: the chance to blend creativity with empathy, to craft experiences that truly resonate with people.

At best, to make people happy or, at the very least, to make their lives a bit easier, one interaction at a time.

I remember during the early days of my career when everything felt possible.

The excitement of sketching wireframes, mapping user journeys, talking to users, and imagining seamless interfaces that would solve real-world problems.

On a personal level, it helped me grow into a more confident introvert. Over time, I became comfortable sharing my ideas and open to having them scrutinised and discussed collaboratively.

It made me see the world through the eyes of others, something I’m still grateful for.
